This whisky is a rare Japanese expression with only 1992 available bottles in Europe. Yamazakura is a whisky produced by the Sasanokawa Shuzo distillery created in 1765 in Koriyama, near Lake Inawashiro. This company initially produced sake and schochu.
Yamazakura 16 Years Old is a high-ranking blended whisky. Produced from 20% malted barley and 80% corn, this spirit aged in Bourbon casks has been showered with praise from great whisky experts worldwide.
This limited edition refers to ephemeral beauty, considered by the Japanese as one of the most marvellous symbols. Indeed,'Sakura'is the delicate Japanese cherry tree with its short-lived blossom, grown on the'Yama'translating as "moutain" in English.

The Sasanokawa Shuko distillery was created in 1765 in Koriyama next to the Inawashiro lake in the Fukushima region in Japan.
