Caol Ila lies on a creek near Port Askaig on the east coast of Islay Island in Scotland. Producing nearly 3.6 million liters of alcohol a year, the distillery was built in 1846 and rebuilt in 1879, before being remodeled in the 1970s. Whiskies of the distillery are marine and peat with vegetal notes .
Caol Ila vintage 2009 Hogshead by Signatory Vintage is an exclusive of Le Comptoir Irlandais. This limited edition is only available in 321 bottles.
The whisky is an exceptional version aged in a barrel of Bourbon number 661. Titling at 60 ° straight from the cask, it was reduced to 46° when bottling made without cold filtration to retain all its complexity.
It is a beautiful Single Cask that has peaty and vanilla notes.
