Big Peat 12 Years Old 70cl 46°

Country : Scotland / Reference: : 24377

This Scottish blended malt is a creation of the Laing brothers (Scottish independent bottlers). They offer us here a concentrate of Islay in its purest form, a nice balance between smoke, ash and iodine!

The Big Peat 12 years old is the first expression of Big Peat with age count.

Big Peat literally translated as "intense peat" has achieved the feat of being composed only from a rigorous selection of character malts coming only from the island of Islay including: Ardbeg, Bowmore, Caol Ila, the very rare Port Ellen (distillery closed in 1983) and two other malts from the south of the island of which Douglas Laing keeps the secret. The result is thus extremely peaty and complex with smoky and oceanic scents.

Without colouring, it is unfiltered in the cold in order to preserve the quality of the whisky intact and to express the aromas in all their power. Assembled in Small Batch (limited quantity of barrels), it combines the flavours so characteristic of these distilleries, between fiery, spicy and iodized notes.

The tube and the bottle unveil a humorous note with the famous drawing and pay a beautiful tribute to the inhabitants of the island of Islay.

A must-have for peat lovers!

From our long-held stocks, we hand select the finest, and often rarest, Scotch Whisky casks from across all of Scotland’s Whisky regions and bottle them as the distiller intended; at high alcohol strength, and without colouring or chill-filtration. By adding nothing and taking nothing away, we offer the consumer an experience close to sampling Whisky straight from the cask in the depths of a cold, dank distillery warehouse.

Nose: fresh and salty, evolving towards peat.

Palate: concentrated peat with hints of smoke, burnt oak, camphor and eucalyptus.

Finish: long, on ashes and brown sugar.
