This secret Speyside whisky comes from one of the most famous distilleries renowned for its ageing in Sherry barrels: the Macallan distillery. The success, image and notoriety of The Macallan are based on the exceptional quality of its production, which has maintained traditional production methods.
This is a Macallan distilled in 2008 bottled in October 2023 in 635 bottles at its natural strength. Ageing entirely in second-fill Sherry barrels (different style from the last Macallan 2005 bottled by Signatory Vintage for Comptoir Irlandais aged in 100% Bourbon barrels).
The influence of the Sherry cask is nuanced and balances the rather malty distillate of this Macallan which brings a beautiful length aided by the natural degree. A great vintage of this version, very delicious.
Non chill-filtered, cask strength, without colouring.
