Woodford Reserve Sonoma Triple Finish 70cl 45.2°

New Woodford Reserve Sonoma Triple Finish 70cl 45.2°
Distillery : Woodford Reserve / Country : United States / Reference: : 20519

Woodford Reserve Master's Collection Sonoma Triple Finish is a special edition from the Woodford Reserve distillery, designed by Master Distiller Elizabeth McCall to celebrate the brand's rich history and connection to Sonoma County, California.
This bourbon is aged in three types of casks: old Pinot Noir casks, Brandy casks and red wines that have themselves aged in bourbon casks.
The Sonoma wine casks bring a fruity intensity and subtle grape aromas that are rare for a bourbon. Its flavour profile is also distinguished by notes of vanilla, cinnamon, grilled pineapple, red plum, as well as grape and red fruit flavours on the palate, with a gourmet finish reminiscent of melted tannins and the sweetness of red grapes.
Bottled at 45.2% and available in a limited edition, this bourbon offers a tasting experience that fuses the traditions of Kentucky with the winemaking expertise of California.

It is the oldest, the smallest and the slowest distillery (when considering maturation times) of today’s last nine Kentucky distilleries.

Woodford Reserve (formerly Labrot & Graham) is located in Versailles, the “bluegrass” region, also known for horse breeding and horse races. The very hard water contributes to the strength of the horses’ bones… and to the unique style of Woodford Reserve’s bourbon. The distillery has been first established as early as 1812, and its stone-walled cellars are unique in Kentucky and more than a century old. Woodford Reserve differs from other distilleries by many aspects, giving its Bourbon a lot of character. The fermentation vats (used in the first step of whiskey making) are made in cypress (not in pine as it usually is), a wood chosen specifically for its neutral effect in the transformation of corn, rye, and malted barley that are used as raw material. And then, the stills. A notable exception in all Kentucky, the whiskey is triple-distilled (like in Ireland) in three different Scottish copper stills of a 9500 liter capacity.

Nose: Intense aromas of fresh fruit. Pears, apples, hints of vanilla, caramel and sweet spices, with a light woody flavour.

Palate: Round and velvety. Flavours of honey, toasted oak and ripe fruit.

Finish: Long and warm, with lingering notes of oak and toffee and a touch of spice that leave a lasting impression.
