For this Resin & Rye American Barley Wine beer, Galway Bay relied on its traditional method of research and crafting. They were inspired by the resin (the lupulin which brings the bitterness) of their California IPA, with more sweetness, to which they wanted to associate rich hops without excess.
Barley wine is a style of strong ale beer with a powerful alcohol content.
Galway Bay thus offers an American-style Barley wine beer, brewed with Maris Otter, Rye Malt and Crystal malts. They completed the achievement with two of their classic Colombus & Chinook hops.
Result: a rich and powerful aromatic palette with bitterness, rye, and a touch of caramelized sweetness, all supported by a firm and bitter finish. Enjoy fresh or age in a cold place.

Founded in 2009 by two friends Jason O'Connell and Niall Walsh, the Galway Bay brewery has grown rapidly.
Jason and Niall opened a small pub in Galway on the West Coast of Ireland with the aim of offering their customers locally made fresh beers alongside a full range of international craft beers.
It was quickly obvious that the beer produced deserved to be shared. Eight years and eleven bars later, the Galway Bay brewery has grown from an annual production of just 300 hectoliters to over 5,000 hectoliters today.
Their beers and brewery have been rewarded on numerous occasions both in Ireland and internationally. Galway Bay Brewery has recently been voted best brewery and best beer producer in Ireland by Rate Beer and has won a silver medal in the World Cup for "Buried at Sea".
