Teeling Brabazon Bottling Serie 4 70cl 49.5°

Distillery : TWC / Country : Ireland / Reference: : 24294

Discover the fourth bottling of the Brabazon series, a limited edition with only 10,000 bottles worldwide.

This is a 13-year-old Single Malt, produced with casks of Carcavelos (White Port) from Portugal, a fortified wine dating from the 18th century.

This blend of Teeling Singles Malts distilled in 2007 first aged 11 years in Port barrels before enjoying a finishing period of more than two years in Carcavelos white port barrels.

Teeling Brabazon Bottling Serie 4 has been assembled and bottled at 49.5 ° without cold filtration to retain all the flavours of this whiskey. It develops a fiery and fruity character characteristic of aging in Port barrels. A nice balance.

TWC is an independent distillery founded by Jack and Stephen Teeling, John’s son, who established the Cooley distillery in 1987.

The Teeling family has been crafting Irish whiskey since 1782, date on which Walter Teeling founded one of the 38 Dubnlin distilleries in Marrowbone Lane in the area of Liberties. This is also in this area, at the heart of Dublin, this Jack and Stephen Teeling opened their own distillery, more than 200 years after their ancestor.

Unlike other Irish distilleries triple-distilling their whiskey, this new distillery distils only twice (pot still) just like the Cooley distillery. It is the only distillery to produce pot still whiskey in all of Dublin. Moreover, Teeling likes varying the whiskey finishes, imparting a real gourmet edge to the traditional Irish character.

Nose: notes of salted caramel, white grape, Granny Smith apple, melon, honey and mint.

Palate: pronounced notes of orchard fruit, hay malt, toast, honey. The whole mixes with sweet notes of marmalade, oak tannins and spices.

Finish: notes of Port soaked in dried fruits, malt and hints of cookie dough.

Winner of the 13 to 20 years Irish Single Malt category, World Whiskies Awards 2022.
