Kilchoman Loch Gorm Sherry Cask 2024 Edition 46%
Kilchoman Loch Gorm Édition 2024 is a single malt from the Kilchoman distillery on Islay, Scotland.
This whisky is an annual edition that highlights Kilchoman's distinctive character, notably by playing on aging in Oloroso sherry casks.
For the 2024 edition, the whisky is bottled at 46%, offering a balance between aromatic power and sweetness.
The tasting notes of this whisky are typical of Islay malts, with smoky aromas of peat, dark chocolate, dried fruit and a slight influence of toasted wood from the sherry casks. The palate is rich and deep, with hints of ripe fruit and a long, lingering finish marked by spice and peat.
Loch Gorm is often considered one of Kilchoman's most gourmet expressions, thanks to the influence of sherry, which softens and enriches the distillery's characteristic peaty flavors.
Kilchoman Loch Gorm Édition 2024 embodies the distillery's distinctive style, with its harmonious balance of sherry, peat and citrus. The fact that Anthony Wills has selected 23 casks from different distillation years also shows a real work of blending, aiming to give depth and complexity to this edition.
Kilchoman has preserved its spirit of craftsmanship despite its relative youth in the whisky world. With their “single farm” approach, they are one of the few distilleries to grow their own barley, adding a unique dimension to their identity.

First distillery built on Islay, 125 years ago, Kilchoman has been built as a “farm-distillery” and grows its own barley.
About 100 tons are harvested and malted at the distillery, 30% of the distillery’s needs. The rest is supplied by the Port Ellen malt-house. It is also part of the 6 last distilleries operating with traditional malting processes. In 2009, Kilchoman crafted its first recognized Single Malt. Kilchoman is one of the smallest distilleries of Scotland with an annual production of about 100.000 liters.
