Caol Ila breathes the sea air and develops marine, vegetal and peat notes. The distillery is located on a creek near Port Askaig on the east coast of Islay Island in Scotland and uses Islay's finest and most balanced peat.
This version of Caol Ila immediately seduced us with its Wine Cask finish. The barrel of wine is not predominant, it sublimates just this magnificent whisky of Islay.
Take the time to let this whisky open to fully appreciate its texture and greedy and ashy notes. The nuanced peat recalls the typical character of Caol Ila with its freshness and iodized notes.
