Kilchoman Sanaig Cask Strenght 70cl 57.8°

New Kilchoman Sanaig Cask Strenght 70cl 57.8°
Distillery : Kilchoman Machir Bay / Country : Scotland / Reference: : 26242

Kilchoman, Islay’s iconic farm distillery, pushes the boundaries once again with Sanaig Cask Strength, a bold 57.8% ABV single malt that delivers Islay’s raw power in every sip. Inspired by the classic Sanaig edition, this undiluted expression intensifies the experience, offering a pure and unfiltered whisky for peat lovers.

Matured in Oloroso sherry and bourbon casks, it develops a rich and complex aroma. The nose bursts with oily and ashy peat smoke, mingling with dark fruits, dark chocolate, and salted caramel. The palate follows with an immediate peat explosion, balanced by prunes, soft spices, vanilla, and bitter cocoa, wrapped in a luxuriously oily texture.

Its aging in a maritime warehouse enhances its saline and mineral character, where the influence of Islay’s humid and salty air deepens the smoky intensity. Non-chill filtered and natural in color, this whisky stays true to Kilchoman’s signature purity and boldness.

Powerful, smoky, and captivating, Sanaig Cask Strength is a must-have for fans of intense whiskies!

First distillery built on Islay, 125 years ago, Kilchoman has been built as a “farm-distillery” and grows its own barley.

About 100 tons are harvested and malted at the distillery, 30% of the distillery’s needs. The rest is supplied by the Port Ellen malt-house. It is also part of the 6 last distilleries operating with traditional malting processes. In 2009, Kilchoman crafted its first recognized Single Malt. Kilchoman is one of the smallest distilleries of Scotland with an annual production of about 100.000 liters.
