Auchroisk 2009 INK2 S.V. 70cl 46°
This edition of Auchroisk 2009 is part of our INK # 2 series selected by our experts exclusively at Le Comptoir Irlandais.
Auchroisk (pronounced “OH-thrusk”) is one of Scotland's youngest distilleries. It is located in Mulben, in the Moray region. The distillery was built by Justerini & Brooks (J&B) in 1974 to ensure a constant supply of malt whiskey for their J&B blend.
Master Blender Jim Milne says the quality of the whiskey was solid enough to be sold as a Single Malt. In 1986 the 1st Single Malt was marketed under the name The Singleton. The latter is very successful.
The company found the name "Auchroisk" difficult to read, the bottlings of the distillery were sold, until 2001, under the name of Singleton. Auchroisk is a very large distillery with sufficient storage facilities to hold 265,000 barrels.
INK #1 and #2 bring together exceptional Single Malts.
