This French-inspired small batch is the result of a blend of ex-Bourbon, Oloroso and, more surprisingly, Calvados barrels. An Islay whisky whose peat and citrus notes typical of the distillery harmonize perfectly with those of cooked apple, vanilla and cinnamon from the Calvados casks.

First distillery built on Islay, 125 years ago, Kilchoman has been built as a “farm-distillery” and grows its own barley.
About 100 tons are harvested and malted at the distillery, 30% of the distillery’s needs. The rest is supplied by the Port Ellen malt-house. It is also part of the 6 last distilleries operating with traditional malting processes. In 2009, Kilchoman crafted its first recognized Single Malt. Kilchoman is one of the smallest distilleries of Scotland with an annual production of about 100.000 liters.
