With Elijah Craig Small Batch, the Heaven Hill distillery wanted to return to the beginnings of American whiskey. It bears the name of Father Baptiste Elijah Craig, the first American to have aged whiskey in new oak barrels.
This Straight Bourbon is the result of an assembly of at least 120 new oak barrels selected for their qualities. It develops a lot of complexity with interesting notes of broom and coconut typical of the slow maturation of Bourbon whiskeys.
The tasting allows to discover a rich and refreshing aromatic palette which develops notes of flowers, spices, fruits and cereals. The length is impressive.
