This magnificent Single Cask from the distillery located on the edge of Sandend Bay on the border of Speyside and the Highlands, is an exceptional whisky.

Glenglassaugh indeed produces a beautiful and very aromatic distillate, with the sweetness of Speyside, the depth and richness of the Highlands as well as marine touches. This peated expression was distilled in 2012 and bottled in 2020.

The whisky has benefited from aging in American wine barrels, No. 529. It allowed him to develop floral and suave notes with lots of fruit and spices. Guarantee of preservation of the power and the aromas of the whisky, the whole was bottled in barrel, without cold filtration and in its natural colour.

We have selected this bottling for its qualities and richness. Glenglassaugh 7 years old American Wine Cask 2012 is a limited edition with depth and power, with nice smoky development and a certain freshness.

Glenglassaugh is nestled by the sea in the wild north-east of Scotland. Founded in 1875 by James Moir, it produces single malts influenced by the elements, giving our whiskies aromas that are naturally out of this world. Glenglassaugh reveals its new range to the world in 2023, and unveils some single malts distilled in the 1970s.

GLENGLASSAUGH, HEADING FOR THE UNEXPECTED

There's a place where sea and land meet. A place where the wind blows, the waves hit the shore and the sweetness of the air mixes with a hint of sea salt. Nestled on the shores of Sandend Bay in Scotland's rugged north-east, this place goes by the name of Glenglassaugh. It was here, at the end of the world, that the distillery was born in 1875, and where land, water, sea and spring water shape coastal Single Malts with extraordinary aromas.

Yet for over two decades, this hidden gem on the edge of Speyside and the Highlands remained silent. But in 2008, the Glenglassaugh distillery awoke once again, ready to reveal the singular character of its whiskies and their craftsmanship.

Colour: orange amber.

Nose: fine and floral at first, it then gives way to peat which takes over with earthy, suave and vegetable notes. The fruits are discreet in the background.

Palate: an explosion of fruit and spice aromas, the barrel of wine is fully expressed! The peat is finer than on the nose but remains omnipresent. The balance is perfect and this whisky, despite strong opposing characters, keeps a certain freshness ... It is the maritime touch of Glenglassaugh that speaks.

Finish: peppery, invigorating and powerful, spices and a frank and direct smoke persist for a long time.
