Camus Return to Saint-Aulaye 2016 70cl 43°

Archive Camus St Aulaye 2016 70cl 43°

Distillery : Maison Camus / Country : France / Reference: : 24678

Camus Return to Saint-Aulaye is the first Cognac from the last AOC vineyards in the Dordogne. A rare Cognac since this limited edition series only has 3000 bottles.

It is the 100% Colombard grape, grown on a small plot of 1.5 hectares in the village of Saint-Aulaye in the Dordogne, which was used to make this cognac. Originally, the aim was to protect and sustain the production of cognac in Dordogne, as its production was on the verge of disappearing in the region. Traditional practices have thus been relaunched, such as the use of barrels made from wood from the local La Double forest.

This 2016 vintage with a brilliant golden colour is marked by notes of vanilla and ginger.

Maison Camus was born in 1864 and has remained a family business for 5 generations now. While preserving traditional methods, it still seeks to be at the forefront of science.

With its "Intensity" distillation method, Camus seeks to produce the most aromatic Cognacs possible. This method makes it possible, in fact, to select, during the second distillation, fractions of liquid which are more aromatic and rich in esters.

Maison Camus owns an estate located in the Borderies, a region which represents 5% of the Cognac appellation area. It has 188 hectares of vineyard, allowing it to offer mono-vineyard Cognacs.
