Kilchoman Loch Gorm 6th Edition 70cl 46°

Distillery : Kilchoman Machir Bay / Country : Scotland / Reference: : 23625
Kilchoman Loch Gorm is named after the largest lake in Islay, where the independent Kilchoman micro-distillery is located.

Each year the youngest distillery in Islay renews its Loch Gorm range. This 6th edition 2018 comes from the assembly of 19 barrels of sherry oloroso (Butts) filled in 2007, 2008 and 2011.

This expression bottled at 46%, allows Kilchoman Loch Gorm to reveal its very peaty character softened by subtle notes of spices, citrus, candied fruit.

First distillery built on Islay, 125 years ago, Kilchoman has been built as a “farm-distillery” and grows its own barley.

About 100 tons are harvested and malted at the distillery, 30% of the distillery’s needs. The rest is supplied by the Port Ellen malt-house. It is also part of the 6 last distilleries operating with traditional malting processes. In 2009, Kilchoman crafted its first recognized Single Malt. Kilchoman is one of the smallest distilleries of Scotland with an annual production of about 100.000 liters.
