Distillery : Tobermory / Country : Scotland / Reference: : 24202

This Ledaig 2011 edition of our Ink#2 S.V. series is a limited edition, selected exclusively by our experts.

Ledaig is the peaty Single Malt produced by Tobermory, located on the Isle of Mull. The shape of its stills, to say the least, original: the swan neck is in fact bent in a flat S-shape, thus promoting the reflux of the vapours in the still boiler and giving the distillate a lighter and fruity character.

It is aged in Bourbon casks before finishing in Port casks.

Aromatic profile: style opposition between the fruits and the delicacy of the Port cask, and the original "wood fire" and "barbecue" character of Ledaig peat. A great character but which remains accessible.

For those who liked: Caol Ila 6 years old INK#1 of 2019.

Nose: style opposition between the fruit salad offered by the cask, and the very dense peaty and "smoked bacon" aspect of the distillate.

Palate: jets of smoked fruit, earthy and oily peat.

Finish: fine peat and always fruity. The finish is balanced, delicious and easy. A great alternative to Islay and a great gateway to discovering the world of peated whiskies.
