Chivas Regal Extra has been blended by Chivas Master Blender Colin Scott. Crafted from a base of Strathisla whisky, like all Chivas, this non-aged blend features Speyside whiskies aged in American white oak casks, together with exceptional malts aged in Oloroso Sherry casks.

Chivas Regal Extra has an exceptional character. The best Single Malts aged in Sherry casks account for its complexity and temper, together with an exceptionnal velvety texture and fruity flavours lifted with ginger notes.

Colin Scott describes his blend specificities: "the sherry butts accounts for the smoothness and generosity of the malt. I added a selection of our extra rare malts that deliver deep aromas. This combination makes Chivas Regal Extra a very unique expression, characterized by the richness of its profile."

The founders of the Chivas Brothers Co., James & John Chivas, knew that a whisky would be only as good as the steadiness of its quality.

At that time, whiskies used to be rough and did not age well. Hence, the Chivas brothers created extremely smooth quality blended whiskies, and quickly became real pioneers in the art of blending. Others then followed the standards set up by the Chivas Brothers, and, at the beginning of the 20th century, the Chivas Brothers marked history creating a blend of the finest quality they called “Chivas Regal”… Securing the quality and steady flavours and character of Chivas Regal is no other than Colin Scott, who has been Master Blender at Chivas Regal for more than 30 years.

Colour: dark amber.

Nose: sweet and fruity, with notes of baked pears and melon. A creamy, chocolatey flavour with cinnamon, ginger and spices.

Palate: bursting with ripe pear marmalade, vanilla caramel texture typical of the American casks, with cinnamon, almonds and a touch of cocoa.

Finish: velvety, evoking toffee and spices.
