It is hand-crafted and aged in American white-oak barrels that previously contained bourbon. It is still a fine example of the magnificent whiskies made by this distillery in India.

Paul John whiskies are inspired by the wavy landscapes of the windswept oceanfront shores in Goa.

Of golden mahogany colour, the nose is reminiscent of coconut, peat, candy and honey.

Paul John's Single Malt meets very specific criteria: barley comes from the green hillsides of the Himalayas and is harvested exclusively in summer, when the grain reaches its ideal ripening. Double distillation is then carried out in copper stills, which allows the distillate to acquire a strong character. Aging is done in carefully selected American oak barrels.

The distillery is at the forefront of technology and has high-end equipment such as copper stills that reach a production capacity of 3 000 litres per day.

Colour: golden mahogany.

Nose: powerful, peaty, hints of fruit and honey.

Palate: a smooth entry integrating complexity, balance and power. Aromas of liquorice, fig, allied plums with smoky, spicy and chocolate notes. It has a pastry character, with peat and fruit flavours. There is also smoke, which comes through a net of sweet grapes and the assertive power of black fruits.

Finish: long with a piece of cinnamon, sugar and coffee.
