This edition of Bunnahabhain 2008 is part of our INK # 2 series selected by our experts exclusively at Le Comptoir Irlandais.

Founded in 1881, the Bunnahabhain distillery has a unique style stemming from its long heritage. Its philosophy is to offer the most natural whisky possible, produced and aged on the island of Islay with production steps that have remained almost entirely manual.

Bunnahabhain is a light and delicate whisky of great distinction characterized by an exceptional roundness.

We are here, as the English say, on a big old fashioned "Sherry Bomb". Few fruits and spices like on "modern" Sherry casks, but more rustic, more "oldschool" aromas. The cask is very powerful, it is a magnificent sherry whisky, but you do not feel anything of the Bunnahabhain character, there it is only the cask, in a sense it is a little unbalanced whisky ... but if you like the cask from Sherry it's splendid.
