Since 1966, the family business Reids has steadily gained notoriety thanks to its delicious biscuits made with carefully selected ingredients.

In 1966, Donald Reid founded a small bakery in Castletown, Scotland: his bread and cakes met with great success, so much so that he was soon selling his products to neighbouring businesses. He even supplied the Queen Mother with bread and cakes during her annual holiday at the Castle of Mey.

The bakery increasingly grew until it set up in Thurso, in the first factory designed by his son Gary Reid and officially inaugurated by the Prince of Wales.

After more than 50 years in business, the biscuit brand is run by the second generation of Reids and is a Scottish favourite.

Reids strives today to revisit the favourite Scottish recipes through a range of shortbread, oatcakes and other biscuits made with all the Scottish craftsmanship.

Voted Scottish Bakery of the Year in 2017 and in the biscuit category in 2022, the company now led by Gary and Tracy exports its products beyond the British coast.

Reids shortbread are generous in butter and offer flavours that are both gourmet and original, with packaging in bright colours and a tartan pattern that recalls the Scottish identity of the biscuits.
