HP sauce is the second most consumed product in England and is exported to more than 70 countries.
The original HP recipe was devised and developed in 1899 by Frederick Gibson Garton, a local grocer from Nottingham. The letters HP meant "House of Parliament" (English Parliament) and the legend goes that the sauce was served in the restaurant of the Parliament at the beginning of 20th century. Since then, the sauce became very popular: 28 million bottles are sold each year!
