In contrast, the amount of alcohol absorbed by the cask is called the "devil's share". It is in a nod to this expression that Demon's Share rums were born, produced in Panama by the Bodegas de America distillery.

Panama benefits from the tropical climate of Central America as well as a rich volcanic soil that allows sugar cane crops to extend over more than 1200 hectares. Climatic conditions that also cause a greater angels' share due to the ambient heat and humidity.
