Alfred Giraud Harmonie 70 cl 46.1°

Country : France / Reference: : 25357

This Alfred Giraud whisky, all in power and elegance, was made from two unpeated French malt distillates, housed in three types of barrels: a large majority having contained very old cognacs, new French oak barrels from the Limousin and new American oak barrels.

The blend then benefits from ageing in barrels having contained very old Cognac, before being married to a slightly peated French malt, to finally be refined in the same barrels until obtaining a perfectly balanced aromatic palette.

The result is a unique whisky, a slightly peated version of the Heritage, presented in a superb bottle.

A family house, driven by knowledge of cognac as well as the blending and ageing of whisky acquired over more than a century.

The history of the Giraud family begins with Louis Giraud, the first generation to set foot in the world of spirits since he worked during his career in the manufacture of barrels before joining a cognac house. It was by passing on his knowledge and experience to his son Alfred that he initiated this family legacy that will last more than 80 years.

Since then, generations have passed on, passing on their knowledge of whisky and their expertise in cognac to the next, until the creation of Alfred Giraud whisky by Jean-Pierre Giraud, 4th generation of the family, and his son Philippe.

Alfred Giraud whiskies are intended to be innovative, marked by a delicate balance between nature and creativity, carrying a know-how acquired over more than a century on cognac but also on blending and traditional whisky ageing methods.

Nose: aromas of raisin bread, spices combined with smoked barley.

Palate: initially silky, it opens on spices and juicy grapes, with a hint of peat.

Finish: with a good length, the light peat highlights the discreet tannins brought by the barrels of very old Cognac.
