Frangelico 70cl 20°
Frangelico is a traditional liqueur produced from hazelnuts of the Tonda Gentile variety, renowned for their sweetness, in Italian Piedmont.
The hazelnuts are infused in a solution of alcohol and water. The infusion is then distilled and the distillate is mixed with extracts and distillates of cocoa beans, vanilla and roasted coffee. The resulting concentrate is mixed with pure alcohol, sugar and water to achieve the required bottling strength. It is then placed in oak barrels for 6 to 8 weeks to allow the blend to marry and mellow.
Its name Frangelico refers to the legend according to which the origins of this liquor date back more than 300 years, produced then by Christian monks including the hermit Fra 'Angelico. The bottle pays homage to him with its form of a monk's robe, tied at the waist with a cord.
Its sweet and balanced flavors of hazelnuts, vanilla and dark chocolate combine wonderfully in a sophisticated cocktail, can be enjoyed neat or perfectly flavours a coffee.
