Kilchoman 11 Years Old 2010 70cl 52.5°
Made from barley grown and malted on the Rockside farm, owned by the distillery, this version has a rate of 20 ppm*. It offers a character more smoky than peaty.
This Single Malt aged during 11 years in Bourbon barrels is particularly airy, fruity and saline.
Limited edition of 220 bottles.
*PPM - parts per million - of phenolic compounds, measures the impact of oily peat smoke that settles on sprouted barley as it dries. The longer this time, the higher the ppm value. An already well peated Islay whiskey is around 40-50ppm. But let's never forget the particularities of each distillery in terms of the taste of the whisky in the mouth.

First distillery built on Islay, 125 years ago, Kilchoman has been built as a “farm-distillery” and grows its own barley.
About 100 tons are harvested and malted at the distillery, 30% of the distillery’s needs. The rest is supplied by the Port Ellen malt-house. It is also part of the 6 last distilleries operating with traditional malting processes. In 2009, Kilchoman crafted its first recognized Single Malt. Kilchoman is one of the smallest distilleries of Scotland with an annual production of about 100.000 liters.
