Kilchoman 10 Years Old 2011 70cl 55.8°
Made from malted and peated barley at 50 ppm* by the Port Ellen malting, this Single Cask offers a character that is more smoky than peaty.
It is a Single Malt aged during 10 years in Bourbon casks that develops fruity, herbaceous, floral, honeyed or even milky notes which further enhance its ashy, liquorice and medicinal character.
Limited edition of 240 bottles.
*PPM - parts per million - of phenolic compounds, measures the impact of oily peat smoke that settles on sprouted barley as it dries. The longer this time, the higher the ppm value. An already well peated Islay whiskey is around 40-50ppm. But let's never forget the particularities of each distillery in terms of the taste of the whiskey in the mouth.

First distillery built on Islay, 125 years ago, Kilchoman has been built as a “farm-distillery” and grows its own barley.
About 100 tons are harvested and malted at the distillery, 30% of the distillery’s needs. The rest is supplied by the Port Ellen malt-house. It is also part of the 6 last distilleries operating with traditional malting processes. In 2009, Kilchoman crafted its first recognized Single Malt. Kilchoman is one of the smallest distilleries of Scotland with an annual production of about 100.000 liters.
